Adiel Jacobs

Structuring and deals.

Works on how a business and its group are put together, and the cost that carries years later.

Background

Adiel founded a chartered accounting practice in 2002 and ran it for eighteen years, after a decade in tax and corporate accounting. He took the tax practice across to Halkin in 2020 and co-founded Halkin Ventures with Kat and two others from the board. Thirty years of watching structures get set up for one good reason and then live with the consequences for the next twenty.

Structure chosen deliberately rather than inherited. It is the least visible part of a deal and it usually decides how much of the money reaches the owner rather than going somewhere else. He negotiates, which is a different skill from advising, and he has done it long enough to know which parts of a deal are movable.
