Background

Anoushka trained in audit, on property and telecommunications clients, which is where you learn that a number is only as good as the document behind it. Before that, an internship at a law firm in Hong Kong, reading witness statements against the discovery file to see whether the two agreed. Diligence is that same job, applied to a whole business.

The unsigned contract, the handshake arrangement, the lease running out, the person holding it all together with nothing in writing. Better to find them now, while they are still just jobs to do. The same thing surfacing halfway through a deal is something the buyer gets to use, and she would rather be the one who finds it.
